[Lifestyle] Aviva SuperFunDae 2017: 5 Things You Need to Know About Singapore's Largest Outdoor Party for Kids
Looking for some fun activities with your kids this June school holidays?
For the third consecutive year, Aviva Superfundae is back again at Gardens by the Bay! With games and activities specially designed for children between the ages of 2 – 10 years of age, it is a one-of-a-kind funival where the whole family – kids, parents, grandparents, siblings, friends – can indulge in some unique, quirky and all-out fantastic all-day play.
Here are 5 things you need to know about the event and our 5 cool tips:
1) Save the Date for 10 June!
Save the date for 10 June 2017 (Sat) for an exciting day from 10am to 9pm, with more than 30 non-stop games and activities!
Whilst the carnival grounds open at 10am, activities last the entire day till closing and participation for the physical activities will end at 7.00pm. Movie screening will begin at 7.30pm.
Located at The Meadow @ Gardens by the Bay, Singapore's largest outdoor garden venue offers 22,000 sqm of open play space against stunning panoramic views of the iconic Conservatories, Supertrees and Singapore's downtown cityscape. Directions and parking instructions are available here, and the nearest carpark is the Meadow Car Park within Gardens by the Bay.
Tips #1: As it may be difficult to find a parking space during peak periods, do arrive early or park at nearby venues such as Marina Bay Sands and Marina Barrage. Alternatively, ditch the car and take the MRT!
2) Three Main Play Elements Behind the Various Games and Activities.
The event activites aim to integrate 3 types of play:
- CONNECTIVE PLAY: Through activities like Numakiki Jungle Obstacle and Craycrayspray Water Play, participants can interact with one other, and enrich their communication skills and emotional wellbeing.
- ACTIVE PLAY: Hone psychomotor skills and fitness levels through fun outdoor quests and dashes such as Beer Dash and Daddy Mommy Piggyback.
- CREATIVE PLAY: Train the right brain by getting creative and hands-on with artsy workshops. Unleash the imagination with wild, “anything goes” creations.
2) Five Worlds For Exploration.
Kids can indulge in 5 different worlds:
- Circus Centre: This is where all the exciting stage activities happen. From the Mega Candy Cannon to the 7.30pm Movie Under the Stars, there is something for everyone.
- Speedy Zone: Love fun and quirky dashes? Look out for the all-new Daddy Donut Dash and the squiggly cars.
- Dream Castle: This is where we can unleash our inner Picassoi and indulge in various art and craft ideas such as the Mosaic Workshop.
- Pirate Island: How can a day out be without any water fun? Here's where the mini water slide and CrayCraySpray Waterplay Area are!
- Jungle World: Be a hero at the Numakiki Jungle Obstacle where everyone can jump, pounce, grab and swing and have all the fun in the world!
What's more, a Medal of Achievement awaits when all the challenges are completed!
Tips #2: We heard that the Mega Candy Cannon that fires Haribo gummies hourly at the Circus Centre is a MUST-SEE!
3) Lots of Good Food Within the Carnival Grounds.
Pasarbella will be at the event again this year, so expect to purchase their yummy signature food within the various food-stalls on the carnival grounds. Of course, cold beer will also be available for the parents too.
What's your favourite food from Pasarbella? Mine's always Cajun on Wheels which serves Louisiana-style seafood with crabs, mussels and prawns, so I hope to find them there!
Tips #3: Btw, free ice cream will be available all day long (whilst stocks last), so do look out for it!
Tips #4: Warm water will be provided at the Toddler Play Area, but do bring your own bottles of water to keep hydrated all day!
4) Each Ticket Entitles Participants To Lots of Fun and More.
Each entrance ticket entitles participants to:
- Unlimited number of activities at no extra cost.
- A Superfundae pack for children up to 12-years-old, or a free beer or juice for adults. This can be collected on the event day itself at the Ticketing Booth.
- Free ice-cream all day long (whilst stocks last).
- Unlimited entries/ re-entries are allowed, but just remember to get a re-entry stamp if we intend to return later in the day.
As all activities do not require pre-registration, families can have a free-and-easy time on the grounds, pick and choose the activities that we want to participate in (or just go for the ones that have the shortest queue) and have fun!
Tips #5: Since the activities will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, do arrive early!
5) Tickets are now available online from Sistic.
Tickets are available (at the same price) for adults and children 3-years-old and above:
- From now till 30 April 2017 (Early bird promotion): S$14.90 each from SISTIC*.
- From 1 May 2017 onwards: S$19.90 each from SISTIC*. PAssion Card Members can enjoy 10% off.
